of montreal at highline ballroom

A big departure from the last show I caught at Highline with Au Revoir Simone and Class Actress. Of Montreal still sound/look like the Dandy Warhols to me, but they know how to get a rabid fan-base pumped--by recruiting Susan Sarandon and Solange Knowles!



Nobody spanks a pig like Susan. And Solange sounded great, keeping it in a key she could work with. Have those guitar licks from "Want You Back" ever sounded splashier? More vibrant? Here's what I said about Solange a year and a half ago.
